Interesting Facts You Should Know About Eyeglasses
61
If you’re looking this article up, chances are that you are looking for eyeglasses either for yourself, or family. In addition to correcting small vision problems, eyeglasses today have become a major fashion statement. Be it the nerdy librarian look or the suave jazz one, eyeglasses are everywhere!
All this leaves you spoilt for choice, given the range of colors, materials, models, frames, etc that go into the making of one. The basic thing to remember however is the utility quotient. For this, take into account the type of lenses, weight of the frame, how well it sits, comfort and last but not least, elegance.
The kind of vision problem you are seeking to correct will decide the type of lenses you require. The most common lenses nowadays are the high indexed lenses. There might be certain circumstances when you have to buy eyeglasses for a child. For this, pay attention to the size of the frame. In addition, make sure that the material used is strong. After all, you don’t want to have to replace them every other week, do you? Lenses made of polycarbonate material will be worth considering here as these are strong, and will reduce chances of your child getting hurt.
You can choose a pair of glasses that will stand you in good stead by paying attention to a few basic things. Select a frame that complements the shape of your face and your personality. Don’t be attracted to a pair just because your favorite movie star wears one, look for a pair that does you justice. Getting a second opinion from people you trust can help - don’t ask the store attendants as they might sell you the most expensive frame!
Other factors that go into selecting a frame would be the kind of workplace or work profile you have. While whacky purples may not be acceptable in a law firm, they might add to your personality if you’re associated with a casual and trendy profile. Of course, if you can’t decide on one, you can always pick another pair for your alter ego but try to go with a pair that’ll see you through the everyday.
Don’t be too hasty when buying a pair. Take your time to decide what kind of frame you’re looking for. Don’t feel obliged to buy a pair just because you spent fifteen minutes looking through the eye-wear in a shop. After all, you’re going to be stuck with them for a considerable amount of time!

I have had the best pair of frames ever for the last couple of years. But I needed some bifocals. So I just got some new lenses to go into my new frames. I considered buying the bifocal lenses online, but since this was my first bifocal prescription, I decided to work with a local optometrist. The lenses are coming in Tuesday. Hopefully I will be able to see much better then.
